#CrenshawTour - Nipsey Hussle performs "Keys 2 The City", "7 Days A Week" in NYC

One of the highlights of last night came when Nipsey took it back to his acclaimed 2010 project The Marathon. Below you'll find his second verse on "Keys 2 The City" spit a cappella, plus the highly recognizable "7 Days A Week", which was one of my first real favorite Nipsey songs. Hit the jump and check them out, and do your homework on The Marathon series. You're welcome.

[LISTEN] Casey Veggies feat. Phil Beaudreau - "Life Changes"

The 20-year-old MC out of Inglewood, California has been leaving impressions on hip-hop fans through several independent projects over the years. This comes from his latest Life Changes drop from January. I enjoy this cut from the project for the calming presence of feature Phil Beaudreau and the spacey Futuristiks production, but also more of an in depth, personal tone from Veggies. Hit the jump for it.

Dom Kennedy - 'Get Home Safely' (Top songs + Review)

Fresh off my review of Dom Kennedy's new Get Home Safely album, here are the songs that left the greatest impression on me. Check out why and take a listen after the jump.

My review of Get Home Safely can be found here on HipHopHundred.

Recounting past experiences, "17" is driven by layered hi-hats and a hurry-up flow during the second verse that adds my kind of bounce to it.

I call this the most lyrically astute cut in my review for a reason. Dom makes his case with two thorough verses over funky horns, and the second verse is especially rigorous. Maybe I just appreciate the Kurt Rambis reference.

"I'm tryna ball like Jalen Rose" begins another one of Dom's distinct flows over light banjos and toasting glasses. The Krondon feature is worth it word to Frank Drebin.

A plush, ideal example of Dom's lounge sound. Talking that "street knowledge" with a personal, symbolic tone around the theme.

More bounce from Dom, speaking on dreams deferred and stealing polo shirts to wear to school.

An altered, high-pitched vocal sample supports a personal tone from Dom.

Travi$ Scott brings out Kanye West in LA

Travi$ Scott had a surprise for fans at his Los Angeles concert last night (August 1). It should have been pretty obvious when he brought up his "mentor", but how likely would it be that Kanye West himself would appear on stage. After blacking out all the lights, Scott brings out West for a boisterous set for "New Slaves". Watch Scott crowd surf in the midst of sheer pandemonium as 'Ye shuts it down with his cut from 'Yeezus'.
