Song Feature: The Great Gig In The Sky

I was introduced to the English progressive rock band Pink Floyd just last year, and I've since become a dedicated listener. As I explored their discography, the 1973 critically acclaimed album Dark Side of the Moon caught my ear first. The album contains this week's song feature, "The Great Gig In The Sky." The song embodies what it means to spill every ounce of emotion you have into a microphone. In this case, British singer Clare Torry is responsible for evoking that emotion with her wordless vocals. That's right, this song doesn't have any lyrics, which makes the effect just as intense. If it's possible to feel joy, sorrow, pain, and agony all at once, this week's song feature is part of the formula. Check out the song below, along with the download link for Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon album.
