16 year old Ella Yelich-O'Connor is beginning to cause quite a stir in the pop/dance realm. She first hit the scene at the beginning of 2013 with her first single Royals which ended up hitting the number 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 list. Being a native of New Zealand, she was the first Kiwi to have a reach the plateau. Her sound is very interesting and extremely developed for a 16 year old. I definitely see a bit of Florence in this girl and hope to see her continue to develop and blossom. She sites her direct influences as being the Queen, Etta James and super producer SBTRKT. She has also made waves after being remixed by both the Weeknd and Burial. Her album Pure Heroine hit shelves September 30th and is a must hear. Hit the jump to check out a few of her tracks.
