Recommended: Terrace Martin - '3ChordFold'

I posted two records from this project as they leaked over the last couple of weeks, so by now you should know that Terrace Martin is the modern-day Quincy Jones. The hip-hop-jazz musician and songwriter is acclaimed among music circles; his saxophone-ridden trademark is a coveted bonus to his own modest, expressive lyricism. '3ChordFold' is essentially a relationship-themed project, meant to draw on Martin's core influences to evoke a variety of tender themes. He's the only one that could bring (formerly known as) Snoop Dogg and Lalah Hathaway together for a joint hook ("I'm For Real"). He also recruits the like of Robert Glasper for the 12-minute "Gone", Musiq Soulchild ("Over Time"), Wiz Khalifa ("Motivation"), Kendrick Lamar "Triangleship", all of whom mutually benefit from Martin's jazz blueprint. This is a must-have for hip-hop/jazz lovers like myself. Start right at the top with "Ab-Soul's Intro" below, an exquisite blend of vocals, intimate raps from Ab, and Martin's distinctive saxophone.
