[NEW MUSIC] SZA feat. Chance the Rapper - "Childs Play"

Check out the new drop from TDE’s eclectic female vocalist, which will appear on her upcoming Z EP dropping April 8. Not only does this one feature a typically witty verse from Acid Rap‘s Chance the Rapper, but production comes from XXYYYXX. If you’re familiar than you’ll recognize the beat from one of their fantastic sample concoctions, “About You”. Hit the jump for a listen.

WATCH: SZA - "Babylon" [VIDEO]

The 23-year-old TDE singer just announced the release date of her new project Z, which will drop April 8, the second of her trio series which started with S last year. 

Along with the announcement of the EP came her official video for the lead single, "Babylon", produced by DJ Dahi. The visuals were directed by APLUS.FILMZ, providing the kind of cleansing, ambient concept that comes with not just this record, but just about all of SZA's music. Schoolboy Q performs "Collard Greens" on the #OXYMORONTOUR in NYC [VIDEO]

The second opening act on the Oxymoron Tour in New York on Monday night was TDE's rising star Isaiah Rashad, who just released an extremely thorough Cilvia Demo in January. Among several cuts he performed from the tape, hit the jump to see Rashad present two of my favorites from his project.

Schoolboy Q comes out to "Fuck LA" on the #OXYMORONTOUR in NYC [VIDEO]

The Best Buy Theater in Times Square was sold out for the Oxymoron Tour on Monday night. Hosted by Hot 97's Peter Rosenberg, fans enjoyed opening acts from Vince Staples and TDE's Isaiah Rashad, but the people were there for the rampant Schoolboy. Check out Q's introduction with the blazing hi-hats and grungy bounce of "Fuck LA" after the jump from the newly released Oxymoron album.

Kendrick Lamar - 2013 BET Cypher (VIDEO)

We anxiously awaited last night's airing of the BET Hip-Hop Awards since the clip of Kendrick Lamar's segmented jab at Drake was leaked from this cypher. Kendrick stood amongst his TDE affiliates and pierced into the camera with an angry-parent pointed finger and chilling conviction, reminding us of his lyrical prowess and sheer attack. This is just Kendrick's two-minute spot, still edited, still food. 

                                          

Follow up: SZA - "Aftermath"

I'm not sure I had even heard of SZA until her new "Teen Spirit" video was posted on this blog just below (which was produced by Wondagurl of Jay Z's "Crown" on MCHG). 

Doing my usual follow up I came across her debut EP See SZA Run from last year, and also her latest work in a series of EP's entitled S, Z, and A. The "Teen Spirit" single is for her forthcoming Z project, but this cut is from S, which dropped this past April. "Aftermath" has a spectral feel and a quasi-romanticism to it.
