A friend and fellow enthusiast pointed me to Ka's The Night's Gambit project this year, which is currently being rated on our year-end list for hip-hop projects. This song has kept my ear from the album, exemplary of the chess-themed motif of the project with a clip from HBO's first season of 'The Wire' in the beginning. Catch a glimpse into the Brooklyn MC's dark realities, aggressive, yet tamed delivery, and potent rhyme schemes. I'm a fan of the scary chord throughout and at the end as well.
