[LISTEN] Flying Lotus/Thundercat/Yeezus - "Black Skinhead"
Part of the recent spontaneous release from Flying Lotus titled 'ideas+drafts+loops' is this massive feature concept. The remix of Kanye West's "Black Skinheads" has the Apocalypse bassist Thundercat harmonizing underneath those blaring drums, adding some light funk to such an imposing record. Check it out below.
And for kicks, here's the download link for the project straight from Flying Lotus' Twitter last Friday: ideas+drafts+loops

Song Feature: Thundercat - "Oh Sheit It's X"
I'm not sure when Stephen Bruner, also known as Thundercat, released his mastery of a sophomore album, but it was sometime this year. I've had Apocalypse in my iTunes since June, and just recently have I dug into the multi-genre bass player's ornate project. Credited for his work with the likes of Erykah Badu and Flying Lotus, this song is funkily indicative of this guy's skill set. Check out some insane bass tinkering behind a running synth brass and drum pattern, with dulcet vocals and a party hook.
