[NEW MUSIC] Kid Cudi - "Satellite Flight"

The moon man dropped this off last night, the first look into his upcoming EP Satellite Flight: The Journey to Mother Moon, which will prelude his confirmed third installment in the Man on the Moon series. Over dramatic string elements Cudi begins, "And the story goes, a young man will come and save the universe from the forces of evil". Just the kind of complex composition and vulnerability that has drawn me to Cudi as he's evolved over the years.

King Chip feat. Kid Cudi & Pusha T - "Vortex"

I've been spinning this song from King Chip's 44108 project since it dropped at the top of last month. A personal favorite from the overall tape features this vintage Cudi hook, a solid Pusha verse, and an ambient horn with guitar and piano chords. Hit the jump and see what I mean.

Kid Cudi & Dot da Genius - "Efflictim" #tbt

I'm giving this the Throwback Thursday spin because a friend recently reminded me how much this project grew on me. Kid Cudi formed the alternative-rock WZRD duo with producer Dot da Genius for this WZRD album last year. I enjoyed some elements more than others, but this song turned out to be an all-time personal favorite from Cudi. The instrumental layers are so eloquent; acoustic guitars with reverb with the strings and piano chord progression make for an intense pouring out of Cudi's vocals. The lyrics bring the kind of density I can appreciate. Check it out below.
